Two designed and built renovations in Upstate New York. The first project is the conversion of an old fire station into a residence for two graphic designers from Manhattan. The second project is the remodeling of a 19th century house into a second home for a private chef, also from New York City.

Walls clad with reclaimed barn wood. Vintage fixtures and pivot-hinged door.
New insulated and radiant-heat topping slab with fire-proofed steel beams left exposed.
Original under-framed roof was removed entirely.
Original field-stone foundation left intact.
Racked walls were plumbed manually.
Original hand-cut beams and columns were left in place.
Barn door track hardware used to hang reclaimed oak doors from Cornell University.
